So ive had mine for about a month and it never fit right. The box could not go back far enough. I posted, some had a vertical mounting, some left the cover off, some even cut the cover.
Well, some idiot backed into me and cracked both the inner and outer left tail light. While i was in there i looked around and there was definately enough space for the wire and the plug. I cut a hole about twice the size of the plug, and ran the wire through this convenient little notch. Stuffed the rest of the wire in to the compartment under the CD/NAV and whola...looks perfect. Slide the box farther back into the CD slot and closed the compartment.
Someone may have done this im just trying to share. Anyone else wants more info let me know. SIMPLE

the wire and plug got in the way. This is using the horizontal mounting bracket that holds the CD player underneath the Navigation system.
Anyway i asked how people were doing it in the 8 a bit ago and got some help so .... a knife and a 10 mm socket and your on your way

Here is where I put mine.

I just removed the CD-changer and cut out a rectangular hole in the bracket big enough for the connector/cord from the phatbox to fit through.

It left me with a nice and clean look and plenty of room.
