Default Please HELP my car wont start

Hello, to all i really need your help. My car wont start. It first started with me driving down to my friends shop. All was fine and smooth then it just cut off after cranking it for awhile it started and i proceeded along. I get in front of his shop about 3 miles away and it cuts off again after about an hour it starts again i drive home and park the very next day i went to the dealer and brought a fuel pump. Fuel pump went in and it still wont start knock sensor, crank sensor, ecu and a new battery later it still wont start and if it does its very weak and as soon as i give it gas it cuts right off. What can it be? i also hear water now inside my vents when i turn on the heat or ac? Please help as i need my car for work

does the plugs have a spark?pull a plug out and hold it against the cam cover to see if it sparks when the engine is cranked over.
have you checked fuel pressure? can you install a pressure gauge on the fuel line to see if you get fuel?

Water in the cowl will drown the TCU, I suggest cleaning the cowl area and getting the water out of the middle 'tub' that surrounds the HVAC intake in the rear center of the engine bay.

Get it good and dry and see where you are at. The TCU might take a while to dry out, even with some heat directed at it. Once dry, connect a scanner and read codes, if any. If your ECU is having trouble, perhaps due to a wet TCU, you might get a communication error. If that seems OK check for spark and try a puff of starting fluid (not very much) to see if you get any action.

Oh and please state your car's year, model, engine, etc.

Its a 4.2 97 SWB. Ok,I have fuel and spark. I have totally cleaned out the rain tray. It still doesnt want to start. When my buddy comes over i'll see if it throws any codes.

Well if the TCU got soaked it might take a while to dry out, if it ever does. Might take a few days even with a light bulb or heater near it.

How do you know you have fuel and spark? Fuel pressure or actual injector firing?
