Default Pointers on Installing Lowering Springs

I'm planning on installing lowering springs this weekend. Any pointers will be surely appreciated.

This is my first time lowering an Audi and I hope it doesn't take me 4 hours.

Cheers...

Default Don't know what kind of car you're going to be doing, but budget 8 hours total

Or better yet, half one day and half another day.

You need an air compressor, impact gun and spring compressors.

I guess I should have been more clear. I'm going to lower my 97 Audi A8.

Does it really take that long? Wow, that complex huh? I guess Audi A8s are more complex versus other cars. I better consider your advice.

Default I looked at your sig and didn't see an A8 there.....

Now I see it says 9T7 A8.....

Anyways, the back is a real bear to do.

And if you don't have the tools that I mentioned, don't even start. Look at my picture poster for pictures of my install.

I agree, the fronts are easy enough but the backs will make you wonder why you started the project in the first place. I think its worth it in the end though.

Which part of the "install" was that final pic in your poster?

Paul, Thank you very much for taking the time to document DIY projects on your website. Your website inspired me on buying an A8. I must have read all the contents of your website. I actually printed out the "Buying an A8 Checklist" and used it as my checklist when I was shopping for my a8.

Back to lowering... the rear suspension looks challenging but I'm sure with ther right tools, patience and time, I can do it.

My plan was to do it this weekend but I found out today that the body shop will not finish it by this Friday... How difficult is it to find a replacement bumper cover for the A8???? Hmmm...
