notion of having a huge *** emblem on the hood of the car sticking up being as pretentious as they come. I like the fact that my A8, although older $60k+ car is subtle and no one knows how expensive they were. I think being my age, I would be treated differently if everyone started to know the value of these cars (not market!). I love the fact that it has a V8 with HP that was unmatched in its time! Mustangs had what 215HP in 97 for the GT? Creature comforts are aplenty! Safety is high. Utility even (2x4s fit through the ski pass!). Build quality is 2nd to none. I mean my girlfriend's Mazda 626 that has 1/3 the mileage on it is in worse condition than my car with 180K! Other words, I think I am now leaning towards buying a facelift 8!

Given teh much higher marketing visibility of the current cars, I would not be suprised if the market di$cover$ the value of these cars. That said, lots of luxury car owners will not keep them beyond warranty for fear of high maintenance costs.
