power problem
Hi, having problem here, hoping to get some help.
Driving car one day after new keys were cut and programmed at Audi for my 2001 A8, all of a sudden alternator light came on, then slowly ABS, Airbag, battery and all the lights came on, wipers were SOOOO slow and car started slowly dying on me, got a boost and started fine ran for a couple of minutes, then started putting and then died and wouldnt stay on, turned on but off couple of seconds. Towed it home did a vag-com and got this:

Hoping something related to Voltage Regulator changed that and still the same, new battery and still not staying on, car turns on, runs nicely for 5 seconds then dies, try another time turns on, putts then dies as well...I checked these error codes on WIKI and conflicted if it is needing an ALternator replacement? Or cables, contacts, or is it immobolizer problem related to the new key change?

My guess too.
Put a volt meter on the battery with the car running...should read over 13.5 volts.
If low, it may not be the alternator itself...first look at the power junction (large wires to small box) in the front right fenderwell...common corrosion point in these cars that interrupts power getting from alt to battery.
IF it's the alternator, it's likely just the voltage regulator on the back of it, which is replacable. The entire alternator is NOT often the culprit.
Good luck.

Hi thanks, yeah I had it checked from AAA and it was low, cant remember the reading..but I did change the regulator on the alternator, also clean the junction on the frame behind the passenger front wheel as well as on the alternator itself, changed the battery also...still not working? So dont know what else it could be?

AAA may have only checked it at the battery...not unusual...with everthing else OK(?), this is usually an accurate method.
A check right at the alternator will isolate the problem...it should be putting out over 13.5 there...and near the same at the battery posts.
