I was looking at getting an S8 in the near future and was wondering which seats you S8 drivers prefer, the sport seats or the heated premium seats. Also I have the $3500 Alcantara in my A8, dose this package on the S8 incorporate some of the alcantara into the seats? If so wouldn't it be too hard to keep clean?

I chose the comfort seats. They match the back seat and provide a cleaner look in my opinion. The ribbed leather is so classic looking. I love it. My 1999 A8 had the ribbed leather seat surfaces but the 2001 A8 didn't. I was happy that the ribbed leather seat surfaces returned in the S8. The lateral support of the comfort seats is adequate in my opinion but I'm sure the sport seats provide more.

I love my sport seats! I had a TT previous to the S8 so I am used to the seats. To me they are more supportive on my 40 year old back and for the record they are heated. The also they have this cool leg bolster that extend out and is great on long trips. If there is a negative, because of the side bolster, it makes it little more difficult to slide into the car. But, if you buy this car then you should be a person that likes a more sporty seat.

I had the comfort seats on my '98 A8 and now the sport seats on my S8. I have to say it's hard to go wrong. They are both of very high quality....firm but not hard. I would recommend the sports if you are slim, the comforts if your a little wider at the stern. Bolsters don't give a lot.

I initially ordered the premium seats for my S8 then changed my mind after several posts to this forum. I'm glad I did, the sport seats are very comfortable and hold you you in place extremely well on those long sweepers.....They are also heated. I also have the alcantara in the interior. The seats are covered in it on all the seating areas. So far it has not proven to be any more prone to soiling than a normal leather seat. FYI I only have 1,100 mile on the clock so time will tell about the alcantara but so far so good...
