This probably won't buff right out........(where was the riot police????)
My freshly waxed A8 got obliterated by an angry mob in the Oakland riots on Wed night. I went out to dinner with a friend at my fave Vietnamese joint, then went out for drinks got back to the car at 11 pm and found this........had to tow the car home (triple a sure comes in handy) then off to Brooks Motor Cars, the local A8/aluminum certified facility.
The damage doesn't seem too extensive, front & back winshields totaled, sun roof caved in (the bastard stomped on it), the front roof section between the winshield and sunroof is caved in, this part is what worries me, there could be structural damage - is this something that can be fixed without affecting the integrity of the ASF? This totally sucks!!! The car has 55K mi on the odo, a shame to write it of or mess up the frame. The funny thing was that the a-hole that trashed the car left a big footprint on the drivers side window - tried to kick it in but the double pane glass wouldn't give, still think this thing is built like a tank.

The absolute stupidity of some morons. One idiot shoots a man under control (very bad), and these..
a$$ wipes decide it's a good idea to go bust up the personal property of people with nothing to do with the injustice. They are all criminals, pure and simple. Lesson- stay out of Oakland.
As far as the damage to your car, I would guess that the insurance company would repair the damage rather than total the car (with only 55K miles, it has to be worth more than the average '97). The roof portion between the sunroof and the windshield is sheetmetal- not part of the ASF. Good luck and at least the morons didn't attack you.

How is this going to bring back the victim or serve justice to the dirty cop who shot him? It's just inconceivable how the mob mentality "rationalizes" that destroying people's property and taking away livelihoods by looting local businesses will solve anything. I truly hope everything works out great for you with this.
