Default Prop shaft problem

I am experiencing a heavy vibration when decelerating from 30mph down to a stop. There are no symptoms when the drive train is loaded in the drive direction i.e. if I decelerate by braking while maintaining some engine power. Inspection under the car reveals something loose within the rear end of the rear propshaft which is detectable by pushing the shaft up and down. When the car is driven with the wheels of the ground the rear prop shaft makes a squeaking noise. Has anyone experienced this problem? How is the rear prop-shaft constructed?
