Propane is popular in Europe, however the 3.7 has 230 hp and you loose 20% with the propane. The tank is 32 gallon!
No, I won't give up my fridge!

Default used in USSR since early 80s

This was used lots in USSR/Russia since early 80s and still used.
Predominently used in taxi cabs and other short commuter trucks for city delivery.

Default The entire difference is undoubtedly tax.

With no tax, propane or methane is a more expensive fuel.

The only real advantage is these fuels is that the combustion by-products have lower levels of sulfur and nitrogen compounds. There's less contamination of the motor oil, and engine wear is significantly reduced. Since a car motor usually outlives the car, this is actually no advantage at all. For a city bus, however, the lifetime maintenance costs could be significantly lower, and the reduced range wouldn't be a problem.
