Protocol Question. Do you wave to another A8er?

In the Corvette world, "The Wave" is kind of a big deal. You see another 'vette, you wave. Corvette is an enthusist's car, and GM's flagship.
Sometimes you come upon a newb with a brand new C6 that has no idea, but he quickly learns the protocol.
I figure most people who own Audi's flagship could be considered at least a mild car-guy (or girl) and would deserve some acknowledgement.
Do you acknowledge another A8er with a wave? I have done so 3 times. 2 times I got a wave back.
Now, in Iowa, it's not Mayberry, but it's not uncommon for folks to wave for no particular reason other than to be friendly. :-)

I was coming out of a restaurant a couple weeks ago and there was a sincerely beautiful deep red S8 parking close by, and as I walked past I was going to say something to the woman driving it but then I noticed she had a bright red satin, stuffed pillow valentines day heart with white lace trim hanging from the rear-view ... and I decided to let it slide.

This is something I've always wondered about. I own a Subaru SVX and, for the most part, we either wave or flash the high beams if we see another SVX (like your new C6 kids, there are a few SVX owners that don't "get it").
But other A8 owners *do* seem to be oblivious to this. I had a couple park right next to me in a pearl '97 A8 and I don't think they had a clue. Funny enough, it's usually other car guys and girls who notice the A8, never other A8 owners.

I used to wonder about that as well. From that distance, what you will notice is that the A8 is much wider and lower to the ground than the A4; that is how I've always been able to tell.
