I've been looking for the perfect car fit for me over the last 6 months. I've driven Lexus, BMW and MB and finally found what I was looking for...the A8L.
I picked up a 2001 that has all of the options on it. Carefully maintained. It has higher mileage...84K....but everything functions properly and rides like a dream.
Looking forward to being a part of this board!

I too am a newer owner of an A8L. Although mine is a 2004 model on the D3 platform, it has a low s/n (under 500) and I consider it just the next evolution from the D2 model.
Mine had 56,800 miles on it and it was turned in from a lease exactly two years after being delivered. I don't consider it a high mileage car since it is all relative.
My 1987 5000CS quattro had 278,000 miles on it when I donated it to charity after I picked up my A8. I bought the '87 new. I expected to get 250,000 miles out of it when I bought it. I beat that by 10% which was not bad! I expect to get the same or better out of this car.
I wish you safe and happy motoring. Who knows, you may get twice as many miles from your A8L!
Follow the recommended maintenance schedule and I don't see why you can't.
