after one year of ownership and 30,000 miles.. i must say i amd still intrigued by the A8's understated elegance..98% of my driving is highway..(the nj turnpike)and i have no major gripe except for a slight downshift shudder at 25 miles per hr..had the trans fluid changed..car shifts smoother but the shudder is still there.. since i have exactly seven more years before i can retire..i am hoping that she will last me at least to 200,000 miles with regular maintenance..car now has 72,000...any suggestions

Timing belt is coming up. Start amassing the parts.
Flush power steering fluid.
Keep an eye on the control arms, tie rods, cv boots.
Change the tranny fluid and filter again.
There's no reason why the Audi can't hit 200,000 miles with the proper maintenance.
