Default Hm yeah, I saw the "matchstick" one using an AudiWorld search, but then PW says something ...

about NOT to use the matchstick trick and do something more permanent and less Rube Goldbergish. That's the one Im looking for.

Default Here's some more links

Just use "paulw headrest repair" and look for a post by Hisport, he was the one that used something else, I don't remember what it was right now.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a8/msgs/26968.phtml</a

Default Go to home depot and get metal rod. Cut it to the same length, and you can be like me ;)

Use a matchstick to get the size correct (so you do not have to shave anything off of the small metal rod piece after its already cut). Once the matchstick works perfectly, cut the metal rod to the same lenght and put that in instead.

Default Its a great DIY outline!

I've followed the latter of the 2 fixes with both front passenger and driver side. First with a matchstick and later with a plastic rod. Both worked like a charm and neither has failed. Be careful when pulling the leather from the plastic back of the seat. My leather was perfect until this and is creased in areas now. Nothing terrible but I'm a perfectionist and it annoys me now. Good Luck!
