Q: how come the S8's listed at 5.4sec to 60mph in CAR, while US models claim 6.3sec?

Is 0.9sec the gap from the manual to the auto?
Curious. I tend to trust the CAR Magazine, but the gap is large...

I have A8 book that states that the 2.8 A8 Manual is 0-60mph 8.5 sek and the 2.8 Auto 10.1 sek. Keep in mind that this info is for the D2 with the smaller engine. However it gives a clear indication of the difference in acceleration between Auto and Manual.

I've been buying them at Borders. Even at $9 or whatever, it's cheaper than the subscription.
I've noticed that some of the better articles in Automobile magazine are articles they've obviously bought from Car.

But i also do not believe 5.4, even with a manual. I cannot recall such a wide variance between a manual and a stick in a car with this much horsepower....
