That's on top of the $975 (at least 10 hours) for the timing belt? That's crazy pricing for labor. I would not want to pay the $188 additional for that.

When you said $900 for labor, I figured that would be included for the timing belt job. Just to replace the belt on your car is relaitively easy from what I read as compared to the 97-99 engine.

What coolant hoses are they replacing? I'm not familiar with hoses that would need to be replaced, unless it's the large upper and lower radiator hose, which are not $25 and $33, those hoses are more like $135 and $90.

Those prices for those parts make me sick....and to think I bought everything for my car from Wendy for something like $300.

I don't see a serpentine belt on that list either.

Could be "throttle body" on other forums, but I'll bet it's "timing belt" here. A common 90K repair for A8 4.2L V8s.
