radiator hose busted today
took the car in for an oil change. the indy tech noticed some steam coming out of the little **** on the top radiator hose (i guess next to that T crossing) and all the coolant shot out of the hose.. the hose is broken i guess.
my question is that hose one BIG hose or can that T-junction be replaced?? if the whole thing needs replacing how involved is it... the tech is saying about 1.5hrs.

Well...you can, but here's my experience...
Mine was leaking in that same place so I drilled out the old "nipple" and epoxied in a machined (and threaded) replacement. It lasted about 8 months and slowly leaked around the epoxy. I got tired of the leak.
Last week I bought a new hose at the dealer. They showed me the financials on it:
Cost: 68.00 (US)
Trade price: 90.00
List: 130.00
I paid 110.00, and I'm installing it this weekend :-)

Trust me...you dont want to go there. My temp fix lasted for awhile, but you
never know when its going to bust. I had to replace it via emergency and take a day off work to do it. Better to just go buy a new one and get it taken care of.

Absolutely- bite the bullett and buy a new one.......
trying to "fix" the old one will only bring trouble. 1.5 hours seems a little high for labor, my guess would be 1 hour for the whole job.
