I lost my code also when I had a loose battery cable. You will have to go to a dealer for help if you don't have the code. It is a very quick job to pull the radio and get the serial and call Audi to get the code. The service writer did it for me at no charge. It takes a small flat bladed tool to get the retaining clips to release and the radio slides forward out of the dash. He only pulled it far enough to read the necessary info, then pushed it back into the dash. It clicks in place. Hope this helps.

If theres any way you can get the serial number to the radio yourself get it! My ******* dealer charged me $40!!! to remove the radio and get the serial number. After they get the serial number they just have to type it in the computer and get the radio code. SO my advice is try to get the radio out yourself.

You could get the serial number yourself fairly easily, but this is an anti-theft feature that I doubt the dealer would provide an answer to if they don't see the radio installed themselves. If you could simply call the dealer with the serial number and get the code, then the anti-theft feature would be worthless!! On the other hand, $40 to do this is outrageous, and I would complain to AoA (for whatever that's worth).
