My '01 VW GTI had rain sensing wipers on it, but my '99 A8 doesnt. I noticed that the wiper controls are exactly the same. Has anyone made this upgrade to their A8? Is it easy to do?

Fun mods can be had with VAG and their swappable components.

Swapped a mid-90's Jetta relay into my '88 5ksq and suddenly had programmable wipers.

Not sure if you can mod yours to the rain-sensing, but it also wouldn't surprise me. How does it sense the rain?

Not sure, I think it has to do with the rear view mirror. Its a luxury every car should have though.

I bought a programmable relay at the VW dealer, it's a plug and play.
