Hi All,

I have a problem with the rear cigarette lighter in my '99 4.2 quattro. I'm convinced it used to work (not that I smoke but I tested it) but now it doesn't and would like to get it going again so I can use it to charge my mobile phone etc.

I've checked the fuse in the drivers footwell and it looks ok - in fact I've tried it in the front lighters fuse and indeed the fuse is fine.

I'm not sure what to do now though? or indeed what I can check.

Any help would be grately appreciated.

Check to see if you have the child lock out swithc activated on the front left drivers door. It is set up that way. You don't want your kids smoking if they can't crack the window.

Not a crazy question at all. Indeed the childlock was activated (I like to do it to stop passengers messing about winding the windows up and down) but didn't know it switched off the cigarette lighter.

I turned the windows back on and it now works agains.......

Its very well thought out and good on Audi. I told a few friends and they all went "Hey, that's cool". Indeed it is )
