Rear springs - I think I cracked the code !

Take your floor jack and put about a 2'
piece of wood on top of it so that it spans
the width of the lower suspension sub assembly
(the part the bottom of the spring sits on). Put a little tension on it and undo the 18mm
bolts/nuts on each side. Knock those out (make sure floor jack is taking the tension)and then lower the jack slowly. You might need to give it a little extra push but you'll now be able to pull out the spring (and reinstall it) w/o ANY spring compressor. You'll need your floorjack, a friend for a few minutes, and a crowbar to get the subframe and bolts lined up but it's not a big deal. If you really want to be crazy, use a long extension and you'll be able to get the two 13mm strut bolts out w/o removing the fender liner. By doing it this way, I was able to do one of the rears (strut and spring)in about 30 minutes w/o rushing. I'll finish up the other rear tonight and then my H&R's are done ! Feedback to follow.

I think I see what you're saying - you're taking loose the bolt where the trailing arm (large lower suspension piece that the spring bottom rests on) connects to the hub, correct?
