Default Rebuild tranny back in the car, now getting P0102

Well, I almost there. Finally got my rebuild tranny from Phoenix back in place last weekend. I also replaced valve cover gaskets and now engine does not run the way it was before. As soon as I start engine it runs good for a few seconds and then it starts choking, almost like it gasping for air. As soon as you touch the throttle - it quits. What the hell? It runed perfect last time I started it (3.5 months ago, just before I removed failed transmission). I checked all connections, sensors and vacum hoses probably dosen of times and getting nowhere. Finally my brother came with Generic Scan Tool and we pulled "P0102 low input". Is it a MAF sensor giving me a headache now? But why? nothing has changed since last time. When I got the code I had connection tube between air filter housing and intake hose removed. I cleared the codes, installed a connection tube back in place and tried to start the engine again to see if code comes back. Nothing. Engine is not running at all now. And no codes either. My brother saying it must fire at least for a couple of seconds to get a code, is that true? Anybody had a similar problem? Thanks.

The tube off will throw a code as there is unmetered intake of air

Default When you put the engine support tool, you had to remove a few things.

Check if you put back everything. With my engine support tool, I have to remove the cruise c, actuator. That has a vacuum hose too. Also make sure that you put back the spacer under the engine speed sensor. (driver's side of the tranny) It will not run if it doesn't have a correct gap between the sensor and the flex plate.

Also make sure your O2 sensors are connected.

Default taking it to the shop next week

I dont know what the hell is going on now. Checked everything, there is a spark on spark plugs, there is a fuel pumping fuel ( but may be lower than usiall), now it doesnt even fires once. Think going to take it to the shop finally next week.

Default My guess is the speed sensor. Maybe the A6 tranny has a slightly different location

for the sensor. Pull it out and see if the gear lines up with the hole. The distance between the sensor and the flex plate is around 1.5-2mm. Maybe the spacer you have under the sensor is too thick.
