Hi,
I used to own an A8 with the 4 speed CML, had done 150K when the car was totalled, no issues at all with the box, I think the box is excellent as long as you service it at 40K, and the service book states this earlier unit should have oil changes at 40K!, so if you've had audi service it will have been done, unlike later boxes.
Much better than the much lower mileage, hunting 5 speed pile of s**t I've got now I'll tell you!!
