I've got 38K miles on my '01 S8 and other than noisey brakes, really haven't had any problems with the car. As for the brakes, finally got AOA to replace the Brembros with Porche Brembros which solved the problem. The local rep said that they are aware of the problem with the S8 brakes, and this is the solution. All done under warranty.

Hey Elmer, which extended warranty did you go with and how much did it cost? I just bought an '01 S8 that has 4 months left on the factory warranty and I'm investigating extended warranties.
