Reliability Issue

I have been reading for quite awhile about the recent debate on reliability on Audi/Lexus/BMW. First of all I am crossing over from the allroad board but I felt that I have to speak up in defense. Although it is well know that Japanese cars are more reliable than all other manufacturers around the world, one must also consider the fact that all cars are made up of millions of components and a minor glitch happens from time to time. I have owned more than 20 cars so far including Audi, BMW, Benz, Volvo, Toyota, Honda, Mazda and my 2001 allroad is the best car I owned so far in terms of reliability and built quality. As for the transmission failure, I have to have the whole one replaced after 5000 miles in my Honda Accord 3 years ago. That just goes to show these kinds of failure are not exclusive to German cars.
