Default I will check for you...

I don't keep it on my key fob....
I leave it at home for the cold morn. start-up.
But , i am not the one who had it installed....the Prev. owner did it,can't tell you anymore than that as far as the install.
So far, i really like the system...the seats,steering wheel and interior are nice and warm when i get in the car on cold mornings....

Default I use my kids for this-get them up at 5.30am in the snow and while I eat my

breakfast I send them out in pairs [for safety] to start the car and switch on the heated seat.
then the wife comes down and asks if I would like to make love while the car warms up and my coffee cools.
After a rabid session I finish my coffee and go out to the running car and drive to work with a warm glow in my heart and and a warm glow on my butt as well. AAAHHH what would life be without the A8
