Hi,
Last weekend my fuel pump stopped working.
I tried to get the whole assembly out of the tank but didn't succeed, then I read here that there is a certain procedure to follow for changing the fuel pump on the A8. Someone here refers to the Bently manual. Now the only problem is that I do not have that manual or no other description on how to remove the fuel pump assembly (and of course, get it back again...).
Could someone here please describe this proceedure to me or send me a scanned copy or something from the Bently manual?
Cause I can't seem to find anything on this around the net...
Thanks a lot.
Best Regards,
Micke

Thanks alot!
I will try to go through that proceedure sometime in the weekend.
Of course It didn't break down at home, so I did a little special arrangement to be able to drive it home. It included a racing fuel cell and an external bosch K-jet pump, worked fine, but isn't a long time solution![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I hope to get this thing fixed so I can spend my time on building on my quattrod-project instead. If curios see: www.quattrod.se
And, thanks a lot again for help with the fuel pump removal proceedure.
Best regards,
Micke

There is one annoying part to the procedure: You can't be sure if the pump assembly is seated properly into the baffle/cup inside the tank. BTW, this baffle/cup is not secured inside the tank with anything other than a network of pickup hoses which feed into it, so it has got a little give. The problem is akin to having sex the first time in the dark with your eyes closed, you're not too sure if it is in the right hole, but eventually she will tell you if it isn't.
I've done two successfully and came up with a way to test that it is installed properly without having to go for a drive. see the link. It should not be a problem for a man of your talents...nice project you've got there.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a8/msgs/134668.phtml</a
