Research for hunting, oil flow question...
Does any one know for sure the oil flow pattern for the 5HP24?
I assume the the following but need to know for sure to test my theory.
1. Sump
2. Filter
3. Pump
4. Converter...
5. ????? Then what?
My theory involes the cooler and a possible restriction. Has any one changed the transmission cooler and / or cooler lines and had the hunting problem go away?

Re: Research for hunting, oil flow question...
Well,
I had a trans overhaul done and the hunting went away. I also recently had the oil cooler leak fixed (not sure if it really leaked from there, but it seemed like a good idea to fix it and the line was cracked). I think you're on to something though. I cannot put my finger on it, but I think the internal pressure in the trans is just way too low at low RPMs. If I could raise the idle speed, I know it would raise the internal pressure at low throttle or off throttle and that would make the trans work just a bit nicer.
