I recently had a new instrument cluster installed. I had 80,000 miles when I brought it in. It now says 50,000. The mechanic blamed some sort of metric conversion problem ? & says he can not change it.
Anybody know how I can reset it to the proper mileage?

I corrected mileage in my dashboard by VAG-COM:
Select Control Module > [Select]
[17 - Instruments]
[Adaptation - 10] (like when correcting IN1, 2, OIL reminders)
Channels 5 -8 contain inspection service information (in KM !)
Channel 9 contain mileage in KM (for example 17409 means 174090 KM or 108806 miles).
