I have just bought an all original and very Nice looking “barnfind” Euro only S6 Plus 6mt.
the Car is basically a S8 d2 enginewise, Therefore I chose this forum.
The Car has been sitting warm and dry for 9 years, and i have emptied the tank and refilled with fresh fuel, new fuel pump fitted, all fuses checked. G28 and cam sensor new. The car primes but when I start there is no fuel pumping or ignition…
Problem is the Car is cranking, but not starting - No codes set other than p1509 Valve for idle stabilisation, which i dont Think Will influence on starting.
Have you tried supplying fuel? I usually use a vacuum line to inject some starting fluid, one of the ones for the SAI or the intake manifold flappers or whatever is handy.
Test for spark, actually seeing a spark with a spark checker would be good too.
My 2003 shows maybe 200RPM on the tach when cranking, does your tach show anything?
Might be worth checking to see if the timing pin on the flywheel is intact. No an easy thing to do on the v8 but worth checking. I believe you also have POS power output stages for the ignition coils. I would also verify the timing marks all line up at TDC.
Does the car have an immobilizer?
After Coming back from the garage, status is as following:
it still does not start - there is no ignition, nor fuel coming to the engine…but…
i found out one interesting thing, there is no signal coming from the g28 which is brand new and tested. With VCDS no reading of engine rpm as I turn the engine. Ohm is the same at the ecu as measured at the sensor, so wiring is fine.
the car has immo but the light turns off as it should.
I forgot to mention in my first post, the car started once, after cranking 20 mines and idled for 15 min with no issues whatsoever- since then no start…🤪
