I also bought the A2DP adapter. Install took maybe an hour. It works as expected when piggy-backed onto the back of the in dash radio. I ran the cable over to the glovebox and put it there. There is also a lot of room behind the radio to put it there, but then you couldn't get to it for the 1/8th inch jack, USB, or SD card slot.
I had gotten this one off of Amazon. Plugs into the back CDC slot on the radio with adapter and is conveniently hidden in the glove box.
They do offer a BT version but I chose to use a USB memory stick with 32GB of songs. Tracks can be chosen by the normal radio buttons.
Took only a few minutes to install.

I shot down the idea of a Seicane based on my experience with a similar chinese do-it-all head unit in the 04 Porsche Cayenne. That Bose system uses a fiber optic signal from the head unit to the Bose amp. It required a decoder box to convert the conventional signal from the aftermarket HU to Bose Optical. This was the source of my intermittent problems. I swapped out the glitchy unit and it has worked fine ever since. It only uses the RF and LR speaker signals to create the output to the AMP, so audiophiles will grouse, but it sounds fine to me. It also came with a can-bus control box so I was able to map the steering wheel controls to the head unit.
Meanwhile, on the 2000 A8, the Denison Gateway Lite BT module installed many years ago behind the dash using the CD changer input still works a treat. I'm told the phone sound quality on the other end is excellent as well with the microphone mounted up near the rear view mirror.
