I just got my 2002 S8 and am not use to how low it is. Anyway, last night when I pulled out of a parking spot I heard a scraping (my bumper had ridden up on the concrete at the end of the parking space) and when I looked at it the bumper cover had "popped out" on the passenger side (i.e. it was off the tracks).
I was able to get it back on the tracks and push it back in, but I want to make sure I get it back on right - are there bolts or clips that hold the bumper cover in place or does it really just get pushed on?

The bumper cover is held on to a metal bar by some plastic clips and some screws. That metal bar is held on by two 10 mm allen heads that can be accessed from beneath the car.
There are also screws holding the bumper to the splash shields ahead of each front tire.

So I should probably assume if it popped off then the clips and plastic screws are broken, right? What are my options at this point (I'm new to messing with cars)? Can I replace the plastic screws and consider it good enough to drive around or will a new bumper cover be necessary?

I would finish removing it to start...2 large allen bolts underneath, then pull entire thing straight back. Might have to remove plastic covers under car first. you can check the damage (possible repair what tore, if anything). It slides back on to guides on both sides of car, then 2 bolts from under hold it in place.
