So my parents are nearly ready to order an S8, simply because want to replace a '97 A8 with the latest and like the promise of additional HP.

But they're hesitant because of two things. 1) In the Audi brochure, Pearl White is no longer available, although internet price guides still list it as an extra cost, special order option. They currently have Pearl White and love it. 2) The warm weather package with the solar panel equipped sunroof is not available on the S8.

What is the liklihood of Audi producing a special order car with these options? I mean, for $70K or so, you'd think the lesser expensive A8/A8L wouldn't have options that aren't attainable on the S8.

At least for other parts of the Audi lineup. I've seen MY2000 S4s and A6 2.7Ts in Pearl White. It's a $1200 special-order option.

As for a mechanical difference like the solar sunroof, I'm thinking this is probably less likely, but if you find a salesperson with good connections to the factory reps, you might luck out.

Only 600 S8s coming to N.A.

You can get the solar sunroof, but not the sunshades. Your dealer can install a manual rear shade for a few hundred dollars. Side shades I do not know about.
