I found these wheels in town, I heard they came off an A8- owner preferred 16 inchers.

The wide spokes should help keep the snow out of the wheels and brakes...

They fill up the wheel well reasonably well.

They clear the big Brembo S8 brakes, but not by much!

Size is 225/55R17

My '02 S8 uses the stock 18" Avus wheels for winter and I cannot find a studdable snow tire. The 2 big advantages of a 17" winter wheel are cheap tires and they're studdable.

I paid $75/wheel and $67/tire. Initial impressions are positive for these Coopers, but we're still dying for snow in CO this year so it may be awhile before I can put them to test.

and there is very little natural snow, even at 12,000 ft elevation! We need to make a sacrifice to the snow god- he is obviously very pissed at us for some reason ;-)

I 2nd PaulW, they do look really good on the S8. Tempting to even try a set of A6 4.2 wheels. One thing though, as an FYI, I did have snow pack into the wheels of my A8 with 17s, causing the dreaded shaking until it melted. But in this case, the calipers may not allow much to get inside.
