2002 Audi S8

I've read a fair amount about problems with the transmissions in the A8s over the years,and of seals and other problems. I haven't read about the same issues on the S8. Do the same problems occur in the S8s, different problems, or no problems of any type?

I have a 2002 Audi S8 currently with 22,000 miles, and I've had the 30,000 mile done, but not
any change of transmission fluid or filter.

All advice accepted.

I'm at 36k. I don't think I'll do the trans service before 45k.

Only '97-'99 A8's reported tranny problems in the <a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a8/msgs/81184.phtml">Poll</a>. The question is ... will later models have problems once they accumulate more miles?

I'm now at 53k miles and trying to recall every quality issue with my '01 S8 (not including brakes):

1. Repaired fuel tank level transmitter gasket leak within the first few months (a recall was issued later).

2. Repaired tranny output seal leak, 30k miles.

3. The trip computer has always been a joke.

4. Repaired an ATF leak from a bulkhead fitting for an electrical connection on the side of the tranny sump, 30k miles

5. Replaced leaking power steering hose, 45k miles.

I think that's it, but 1-3 are common A8 problems. And btw, I did have ATF/filter changed at 30k miles.
