I was interested in knowing the difference between the S8 & A8 in the same model year as to the gas mileage under similar driving conditions. I have no complaints about my A8's mileage (17/25 sticker), but I see people refer to gas guzzler when they mention their S8.

S8 is a bit lower than that especially with my lead right foot Seriously i think its about 1 mpg less highway and 2 city

What year A8L do you have? I only get 10-11 mpg in San Francisco city driving and only 17-18 highway. I'm probably not Mario Andretti, nor the little old lady from Pasadena, when it comes to using my right foot on the accelerator. Seems like this is pretty low mileage. Audi claims all engine functions are in spec. Comments? What might be wrong with the car? (Don't say the driver!!)

I consistently get 21.2 or so on highway driving. I have never figured what I get around town, but have no reason to believe it's less than the EPA suggests.
