Default S8 Wheels

Are the current '01 S8 Avus 18" wheels the same as those on say a '98, except for the centre cap? If so, do the later centre caps fit the earlier wheels?

Andy, I have no idea whether the centre caps fit the earlier S8 wheels, but I thought I'd post a response so that you don't feel ignored.

When are you going to buy your S8 then ?!

No, they are actually quite different. The new Avus wheels are 90 degrees from the center hub of the wheel and all edges are made with just a slight radius, almost square. The earlier wheels (see www.eisenlohr.com) are offset about 5 degrees forward towards the perimeter, much more like the orginal Avus show car wheels. All the edges of the spokes have a much larger radius. The center caps are an obvious difference.

I have both and I prefer the older style.
