Safe removal of side repeaters

I've bought some clear side repeaters but I'm concerned that I'm going to damage the bodywork trying to remove the current orange repeaters.
Is there a safe way to remove them? They seem to fit rather tightly and I realise how delicate the bodywork is.
cheers

If you are not comfortable with a screwdriver, try a 3/4" wide plastic putty knife/scraper with Blue 3M masking tape on the tool and on the paint around the light. Be sure the car is clean before adding tape to the fender.

http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/clearcornermarkers.html</a

Go get a plastic paint spatula (something that you would use to spackle a wall) and put it up against the wing on the back side of the cover.
Use a screwdriver and push forward on the back side of the cover....it will pop out or break and come right out. Either way, it's going to come out.
Here's the tool I use, but use the spreading side, at home improvement stores for about $1.
