Separated/broken mount on the engine torque arm!?

I home-made 2 shims, one for above and one for below the egg to total about 12 mm. That way I still had a decent amount of thread sticking down through the bottom mount for a nut. Ovalized the bolt hole for the top shim so it would still lock from rotating. Seems to be fine.

I did not have a big gap in my front "egg" mount (aka snubber or damper or front engine mount) but it was half-torn. For fun and to save some time I decided to try Dr A8's method to glue it back together with windshield adhesive. I used a product similar to the 3M windo-weld I found on Amazon that was somewhat cheaper, oh man it's tough stuff and you need a powerful caulking gun to dispense it even if heated up in boiling water.
Dow U-428 Plus, $11 on Prime. I pulled the top half of the mount, easy with the headlight out, finished tearing the mount in half, and then spread in a lot of the adhesive, leaving space in the middle as before. Also spread the adhesive around the outside of the mount as Dr A8 suggested. In the meantime I also rebonded some front sway bar droplinks that had gotten noisy in my S8.
It's pretty quick to do the front mount job only taking half the mount off. If this had happened on my much nicer and lower mileage S8 I'd replace the mount but for my old warhorse A8 I thought it'd be fun to try an alternative.
I am impressed with this goop, I tried to save the rest of the tube, wrapped up and in my shop freezer but I do not know if that'll work.
