Basically, if it reved up and then let loose, then went to limp mode....and it has an incorrect gear ratio.....it's most likely one of the clutch baskets that ripped.
It's looking at the speed sensors of input versus output speed, sees the huge mis match and bam, goes into limp home mode.
Sometimes a fluid flush can help it, but if it revved in gear, it's most likely gonzo.
My reverse did exactly the same thing.
