Short trip
Yesterday was spent behind the wheel.
12 hours .
626 miles
Average speed 56 mph
There were some wreck delays getting on 78 in NJ.
Display Indicated fuel consumption 27.4 miles/gal (High of 27.7 )
Calculated fuel consimption 26.08 miles per gallon.
Full tank Range 530 miles (until I became concerned)(
Comfortable ride all the way

Too bad about "out-east" speeds. I did 780 miles in 12 hours last week...
I got an indicated 25.6MPG but calculated 24.8
Maybe I need O2 sensors?
Definite ditto on the comfort on long drives.

longest solo trip = 1000 miles in a day ......
So about two years ago when I moved back to Bama, I took off from CO about 6am. Drove about 1000 miles that day by myself. Didnt stop till about 11pm on the east side of St. Louis. That included a 20 mile 1.5hr detour to Boonesville, MO to win some gas money at the craps table.
Last trip to CO from Bama the wife and I got a late start, 10am or so, we ended up driving straight through with only a 2 hour nap at about 4am waiting for the sun to come back up in KS. That trip was with the wifie, the two woofies, and the two empty new belgium kegs in the trunk.
I think I want a S8L Avant, maybe then I could get more beer from CO and more fireworks from MS.

Watch the weather and hope for a tial wind on the downhill return .;-)
That trailer must set a series of eddys and vortex enough to cut 20% off the top.
