SHOULD I OR SHOULDN'T I?

I was ready to take the plunge and buy a new A8L (my 745 is finally being bought back), but then read some disconcerting complaints about 745ish types of problems with the A8L. I drove the car again the other day, and needless to say I'm enamored. SHould I or shouldn't I, and if I do, what should I expect to lease this beautiful beast for?

I've had my 04 A8L for 6 weeks and put 2100 miles on it. I've had absolutely no problems with it whatsoever. I love the car (I had a 1999 Mercedes E-320 4matic before). It is a vastly superior car to the Mercedes. I've gotten about 24.5 miles per gallon on highway trips and about 18 around town. The back seat is huge and everyone loves the styling. The only thing you will notice different from your 7 series is the telephone-- it is a Motorola V60 that does integrate with the cars system but you can only dial hands free with the onstar voice recognition system. If you don't use the phone too much it is a satisfactory system, otherwise you may be dissapointed. I strongly recommend the car. Good luck with your decision. My serial Number is 8170(last 4 numbers of the vehicle identification number or VIN and I selected night blue/amaretto. See prior posts by PaulW to get a look at color combinations for the 04 A8L.

Seeing as though we are now beyond the "launch" period, the new A8L should serve you well. Im the slow starter of the bunch having bought this car back in early Sept. accumulating only about 1750 miles but every mile has been a pleasure. Best wishes!

With just 300 miles on mine, "problems" are in the future if any. I read as much as I could find on the car and the only "problem" is the cell phone issue that I am aware of.
The more I drive this car, the more I enjoy it.

I have driven over 7000 miles in my 04 A8L during the past 4 months. I can not say enough about the car and have experienced only minor problems (gas guage never read to F and needed adjustment, replacement wiper blade) My previous car was a 2000 740IL which I loved but I am very happy not owning a 745!

... and I'm thrilled. It's a nice feeling to be able to put the key in the ignition without that "what will go wrong now" fear in the pit of your stomach.
My only complaint in the switch is the lack of complete phone integration in the A8L. Otherwise, phenomenal car.
