My A8 tranny as an issue, the reverse is now slipping since yesterday.
My question is: I already have a wrecked 2001 s8 for parts. I have not much time to do the transplant engine and tranny in my A8 but so i would appreciate to run few months again with my A8 before swapping the all thing. So is anybody know if changing the oil and filter on my slipping tranny would make it work for few months again or it is 300$ spend to garbage?

Different ratios, different transmission control units....it would be A LOT of work to transplant the engine/transmission/rear end from a S8 into an A8.....would be a lot easier to sell the A8 and buy a S8.

I imagine it would cost more for retrofitting those parts to your car as compared to selling your car and buying a S8.
Dump the parts, get a rebuild and be on your way. You only have a few days or weeks left on the Clutch F seal and you won't have reverse any longer.
BTDT.
