Default smelling the "burnt dog hair" smell, I've seen the cause on here before

whats the deal with it? When I had my tranny flushed, my mec (whom I trust very much from back in my MZB ownership days) said "everything looks good, no problems" after a recent check up and oil change. So if he didn't notice the leak (presuming thats what it is), then it must not be very noticable, right?

Default The final gear box before the drive shaft drips gear lube on the driver's side catalytic converter.

It's hidden, can't be seen .. only smelled. When you drive, there will be no smell, since it's under the car and blows away. When you stop, it builds up in the cabin.

It's called the Front Prop Shaft Seal and will set you back ~$350-400 to replace.

Just be aware that your gear lubricant is coming out.
