So am I the only one who is all thumbs with TIP? I also seem to...
inadvertently flick the TIP and either rev the shiite out of my motor or bog her down. I seem to manage this every couple of weeks. Whatta Polock!

On the street, I never use the TIP to shift down.
On track, I downshift under braking to the gear I'll use to exit the corner. If necessary, the computer stores downshifts (multiple if necessary) in a queue and only downshifts when it can without over revving.

If you keep it in S mode, you can't inadvertenly trigger the Tip, can you? My P-car is different
in that you don't need to be in Tip mode to manually change gears- but if you don't keep switching gears it reverts back to auto mode. I really like this feature for a number of scenarios and I wish the S8 had it.
