So, it is day 8 with Mobil1 synthetic ATF and there is absolutely no change in my tranny's behavior.

I use BG products and anyone using BG products and trans flush machine
can do it for you. Most dealers and proffesional service facilities use BG prducts so they can get Audi adapters if they want to go through the trouble and want your business.

BG Service Center Locator

I think so too. I can see the needle coming down, but I can't feel it anymore.
Every time I get to the point when it hunted, I am waiting and then playing with the troddle, but nothing, not even once.

So let me get this right..
You say that you still have the hunting when you let go and repress on the gas, but it is so smooth that it is unnoticable. Do you think the mixture os Mobil 1 ATF and Esso LT is a good mix? Mabye we only need to add 2 or 3 qts of Mobil 1. Is mixing bad?

A single rpm increase and decrease when getting back on the gas is not hunting
It doesn't repeat in cycles, and several people have posted seeing the same thing with non-hunting cars. including mine. I think it's just the normal response from the TCU, locking the converter clutch very soon after the transition from coasting to light throttle.
So how's your up-and-down cycling hunting now with your new MAF sensor? Did it come back fully? Mostly? Occasionally?

Anyone want to ask Red Line specifically how they meet the LT 71141 spec?
A detailed, technically specific answer would tell us what's special about LT 71141 and give us confidence that Red Line really makes a suitable replacement.

I don't have hunting. What I tried to explain was, that it supose to regulate......
but because it did it abnormally ( I think because of the fluid )I had 200-300 rpm TC slip speed. The rpm went up 200-300 and then it fallen back with the hunt that you can feel without watching the needle. Now when I step on the gas the rpm increases like 100, but it never falls back like before. I would call this normal regulating. Actually it is a nice feature. I remember on my VW GTI VR6 stick when I stepped on it, it was a solid hit, because of the clutch had no slip only the springs in the clutch could reduce the torque hit from the engine.

A few things.
When I monitored my car, the TC never slips during moderate acceleration. As soon as I accelerate, it locks up even with the light troddle. I think the wear is less, because the TC slip speed is less. One more thing, as I posted earlier I have a 02' tranny with a rebuilt 97' TC.

Re: A few things.
Your converter clutch behavior sounds like mine in Tip. But when accelerating in D as I might from a traffic light, mine goes from unlocked to regulating when accelerating through 25 mph and doesn't lock until I back off the pedal to cruise.
Thanks for setting me straight on your torque converter year.

I don't think they do.
Part of the problem is that LT 71141 isn't a spec, it's a product. To my knowledge, there isn't a spec out there from ZF that says "meet this, and you're approved".
