As in the points on the new A8 bumff.
This sounds an hellava lot like the Citroën DS cornering light system:

I understand there was a Tatra in the 1930's with this as well.
So is this what we are talking about? Head lights linked to the steering, in order to help 'see around' corners at night ???

Yes, the lights swing round to illuminate corners.
At present, the technology has been shown on the Avantissimo concept as being linked to steering input so that the headlights point into corners to aid night driving.
In future, Audi's "Blue sky" thinkers envisage it being linked to the SatNav system so that it can pre-emptively illuminate upcoming corners.
