Default So who wants a 2002 W12?

Check this out, thought it was a typo at first (but there are no pictures of the engine compartment, I have emailed the guy for some), but it appears somebody is trying to sell an A8 W12.

The guy is in Germany, has no feedback, and states it will be imported to the states. I don't think that's possible, is it?

No pics of the engine, and only one badge on the trunk on the left, can't figure out if it's an S8 badge or some other badge. Nothing appears to be on the grill.

Are these the 20" or 19" RS wheels? These are the same wheels as jtimmer's new S8, but larger, correct? They look nice....I think that is what I was trying to say for his beautiful car.

Did the W12 come with sport seats? Any Europeans out there that can verify?

I saw this on eBay as well, very tempting, if it can be done !!!

My guess is that it would be a world of hurt to try to have it imported into the US.

Default Lots of German EBay cars scams going on like this.

They assure they will accompany the car here and see it through customs - thing is, they could get a tourist or temp visa that allows the car to come here, but it must return in a year or be crushed. The other trick is getting a bank to finance the car - title hassles.

We see this thing happen with almost new Alfas here in the US. My Honey wants a 156 in the worst way;-)

Default Is this the biggest scam or what? Read this reply!!!!!!!

I emailed to see if I could get some pictures of the engine and asked if they could import the car into the us. Check out this reply!!!

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in purchasing my car.
I have to tell you that I have other serious offers that I have to
consider and I will make a decision regarding this sale function of time of
payment and price.
I am the first owner of the car; I bought it directly from an authorized AUDI
dealer. The car is as new, with no scratches and it was never
involved in a accident. The paint looks just as new, the car was always garaged.
I sell the car because I want to buy the next week a new car. As options the car
has all premium packages, premium sound, navigation system, bixenon
headlights etc.I am located in Munhen, Germany. I bought the car with the
intention to bring it back with me in the US, but I will stay a longer time here
and it is time to make a change for my car. I ordered the car set up
especially for the US market. The car is US street legal, does not need any
conversion and it meets all DOT and EPA regulations. It has a miles odometer, etc.
This is the reason that I want to sell the car in USA because German people
does not like it prepared this way. The other offers that I have are also
from the US. The warranty is valid in USA and it is extended international
warranty for 5 years, from bumper to bumper.Since this is a serious deal in which I sell a valuable car I want to use an escrow company to finish this deal.
The procedure is: we agree on details of the deal (price, time of
shipping),you make the payment to the escrow company, escrow notifies me and
I will ship the car. All you have to do from now on is to take the car and
register it the same day and notify escrow to release the funds to me.
You can make the payment to escrow co 30% in advance and come to my
location to see the car and take it back with you in the States or you can
make the full payment to escrow in which case I will ship the car via
Lufthansa airplane cargo insured. The shipping is around $3000 and I will pay
for it.
When you receive the car you do not have to pay any import taxes.
The 30% amount or the full payment are fully refundable if for any
reason you do not accept the car or if the car has scratches, hidden
defects, or it is not as advertised. I will pay for the shipping back to my location
if you reject the car.
Thank you and I hope that you will have the pleasure to drive this car.
Thank you!

Can you really ship this car into the US? Will it be US certified?

Default Re: Lots of German EBay cars scams going on like this.

I think it is possible now since Bush laxes all of the laws restricting these sort of things. And since it is "us spec" it should make it fine. Otherwise just wait a little less than a year for the new W12 with 450 to 475 hp. Now thatll be fun!

Default I'm from Europe! (m)

And no.... the A8 6.0 W12 did not come standard with sport seats.
The stock wheel and tire size were 245/45ZR18. The rims in your original post are 20".
On the grill should be a W12 badge. Unless he removed it. (see pic)
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/32401/a8w12a.jpg">
Also on the right side of the rear should be 6.0 quattro, unless he debadged it. (see pic)

I hope I was helpful!
