FYI,
This is MJD0112's dealers in reply to the front end grunts and groans, (KjellA, thanks for making us aware of the euro recall).
I find it very interesting that the "original owner" is covered not and the vehicle. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this before? Seams a little bass ackwards to me. Is is possible to get service bullitins on this issue?
If it is an admitted problem then it should be covered should it not?
"To get the front end parts replaced free of charge you must be the original owner of the car. Have maintained it according to the owner's service manual with records to show it, preferably at an Audi dealer. The request is then forwarded to a regional service rep for consideration. In most cases the replacements are approved for the owner. He had no guidelines on time limits. This year he's replaced front end parts on '96 & '97 model cars under this program. The replace all the parts on both sides when they do the work.
The owner will still need to pay the charge for the front end alignment."

Strange warranty regulations you have over there.
In the european union area they wouldn't get away with that kind of crap. Original owner only, when it is an admitted problem covered by an extended factory warranty? That's a load of bullsh*t! (Pardon my french.) Did AoA confirm this?

I have not contacted AoA but, I agree this is extremely weak responce and will follow with AoA. I question the legality of the statement but, the dealer may have miss quoted. I will give Audi the benefit until I hear it directly, then I determine the responce.
