I tried not to ask this question (by searching all that has been written on this already), but since I am going to do the fluid / filter change this week, I have to know for sure.
What I gather is that the Audi Atf fluid, while expensive, is the best choice. There are others, Pentosin, Mobil 1, etc., but the consensus I get is that using the Audi fluid is the safest bet.
Thanks,
Paul

Don't risk anything else. These transmissions are mucho expensive, why take the risk to save a few bucks on fluid. (The Audi fluid also has magical properties, so I'm told :-)

into tree sap. You're right, we're afraid to deviate from the Audi/ZF recommendation and put our tranny's at risk, but there has to be a better ATF available than this gunk.
