Spaced
Took advantage of summer weather and officially opened the Alfresco Performance Center (aka driveway) yesterday.
Squeek from LF was cured with install of a new sway bar link. Old one had some very obvious corrosion to the metal in the bushings center hole which lead to severe deterioration of the the rubber on the bushing. Voila!
I probably should have done both sides, but don't wanna be too proactive.
Also installed "Edweirdo's" 20mm, $170 delivered, spacers which fills some wheel gap nicely by bringing the wheels out even with the fender lip. This was a great opportunity to wire brush off a lot of hub corrosion n crap.
Stance looks much more formidable now even with the 17" stock wheels. I'll take some pics uhmmm well ... as soon as it's washed.
Now just gimme some oem avus wheels.

Beware Baloney - anything that's been on Edweirdo's cars is rumored...
...to cause inexplicable smoking of the car it's been installed upon. Or something and stuff and things. I think.
Kudos on the spacer install tho, regardless. I think they're 15mm's btw.
Top down weather is HERE! Enjoy yer cabby... me I finally got over to mum's this weakend and fired up der TR3 for the season - and promptly ran out of gas down the street a mile. Ahhh, the fun - nice night for a stroll at least 8-)...

bwHA! Well, wifely *did* get me exactly that last Father's Day 8-)...
I'm such a tool. Yes, I wear it, to work even.
Love the bowtie to boot!
Regarding fumes, that's why I ran out of gas - anything more in tank for winter would have smoldered down mom's house with STANK.
I usually reek so bad after driving it the Wife can smell me walk in the door - no joke.
Edweirdo - BAhahahahahaahaa, jah mon! But, that's "allegedly" I'm told...

I love the look of gritty determination shown in the photo......
a prerequisite for 'piloting' old British sports cars. Looks like he's about to tap the Lucas fuel pump with his knock-off hammer so it'll fire up one more time.

Well I *did* don that "gritty look of determination" this a.m. - dodging...
...diesel fumes from school buses and Cummins Ram's all the way into work. Goggles helped keep eyes from watering certainly!
You should see the helmet head I gots to walk around with all day tho once I get here - d'oh.
Heh, no need to tap me fuel pump mit mallet - it's got a friggin priming handle on it! Good stuff...

Too damn funny...fuel pump with mallet...I used to whack the SU pump on the MGB GT just so, so she would go.

TR's...which too chose
Paul, it is funny to read your story of the TR3A...brings back memories of youth gone by - or something like that. My dad had a TR6 and when it came time for ME to purchase my first car, my dad found a TR4A that he thought I should purchase. It didn't pan out as the guy wanted an arm and a leg for a car that he had neglected and ignored for many a year...purchasing it and maintaining it would have FARRRRRR surpased my meager earning ability and savings as a freshly turned 16 year old! My dad wasn't interested in either the restoration or the willingness to pitch in any funds - so the dream died an early death. LOL
Anyway, I've always had a fondness for the TR's, but the only indulgence was generally found in the passenger seat of my fathers.
Thanks again for the memory jolt...it is a rare sight to see a TR so the text will have to suffice.
Cheers,
Justin

Heh, funny Justin, we both gravitate toward //S8's and love the TR's... I just sold...
...my dad's '66 TR4A IRS that he'd bought new - he traded a 3A in on it actually. Was a real barn rat, sat rotting in our driveway then barn after we were born unfort. Made a great clubhouse! Prolly explains alot about me really. That and the '47 Taylorcraft (plane) in our garage 8-).
I had dreams of resto'ing his 4 after he passed but realized quick that it needed far more than what my 3 took me to resto back in college, so I finally pitched it in Dec.
Thanks for the trip down mammory lane as well! You're welcome to a whirl in my 3 anytime yer in CT... non-synchro'd 1st and all heh heh. 'Tis my commuter now that the weather has finally broken here!
